Chimney Raincaps

Does my chimney need a raincap?

Yes, at All Ohio Masonry Restoration we recommend that all chimneys have a raincap installed. A rain cap is needed to keep out animals, birds, leaves and other debris and contain sparks, but a chimney cap will also protect a chimney from the long-term effects of the inclimate Columbus, Ohio weather.

An un-capped chimney is like an open window, except you’re not up on the roof, so you don’t see the rain/snow, animals and debris getting in. Rain and snow do most of the damage to chimneys by getting into cracks, freezing during the winter, and pushing at the masonry causing serious damage.

We also install custom-sized chimney caps to fit odd-sized flues or multiple flues as well.
